Clinical dietitians plan and conduct food service or nutritional programs to promote health and control of diseases. They help patients maintain good nutrition by assessing needs, current health plans and diet restrictions and implement dietary-care plans, in addition to providing nutritional counseling. Clinical dietitians hold a bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field, must pass a national American Dietetic Association examination and complete an accredited internship or approved training program.
